JEE Main 2017 Entrance Exam – At a Glance

JEE Main 2017 is the national level examination. It is the primary stage examination for admissions to prestigious IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and ISM (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad. CBSE is the sole authority to conduct this exam. Last year, over 13 lakh candidates appeared for this national level exam for admissions to 31 NITs, 18 IIITs and 18 GFTIs, which are the participating institutes of JEE Main.

IIT-JEE MAIN 2017

JEE Main 2017 is also the qualifying exam for appearing JEE Advanced 2017 for admission to the undergraduate curriculum presented by the IITs.

Eligibility criteria For JEE Main 2017

Applicants  having taken at least 5 subjects in H.S / equivalent exam are eligible for JEE Main 2017.

Students should have passed H.S or equivalent exam in the year 2015 or 2016 and appearing candidates in 12th exam in 2017 also eligible for JEE Main 2016. Students should have scored at least 50% marks.

The Date of Birth falls on or after 01/10/ 1992 of the students are eligible for JEE Main 2017.

S,C / S.T / PwD candidates will have 5 yrs age Relaxation.

Syllabus For JEE Main 2017

JEE Main 2017 syllabus will covers the subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Conducting body for JEE Main 2017, CBSE, will publish the detailed syllabus along with the notification for JEE Main 2017.

Exam Format For JEE Main 2017

Paper 1:

Paper I question will have 90 questions and 4 marks offered for each question . The question will be given from equal sections like Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics.

One-fourth marks will be deducted for incorrect  answer  of each question.

Paper 2:

Paper 2 will consist of following three parts-

Part I – Mathematics

Part II – Aptitude Test

Part III – Drawing Test

The exam will be of 3 hours duration.

Mode Of Exam For JEE Main 2017

JEE Main 2017 exam will be conducted in 2 different modes

Online

Offline

The Paper-1 will be conducted in Offline mode (Pen and Paper Based), And also in Online mode (Computer Based).

The Paper-2 will be conducted only in Offline mode (Pen and Paper Based).

For Paper-1 Candidates will choose for either Pen & Paper Based or Computer Based Examination modes.

JEE MAIN Admit Card / Hall Ticket 2017

Admit Card / Hall Ticket for JEE Main 2017 will be tentatively available in 2nd week of March 2017. Examinees can download it online by entering Application Number, Date of Birth, etc.

Result of JEE Main 2017

JEE Main Result 2017 will be declared in 27th April 2017. It can be seen at official website of JEE Main 2017 by putting Roll No. and other information as required.

Counselling For JEE Main 2017

JEE Main Counselling 2017 will start from the 1st of July, 2017 (Tentatively). It will be held by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board). The counselling will be done  through online process.

  1. Please help me.In 2017 only those student can get NIT’s and IIIT who have 75% in board exam. Will this apply in 2017?
